Do you like blogging? Do you like blogathons? You think November is a boring month? Well, join me and participate in The Wonderful Grace Kelly Blogathon! After the success of The Wonderful Ingrid Bergman Blogathon, last August, I felt like hosting another one. I was thinking of waiting a little bit, but I couldn’t. The Wonderful Grace Kelly Blogathon will take place on November 11 to November 12, 2015, on Grace Kelly’s birthday. She won’t be celebrating her 100th anniversary or her 80th, just her 86th, but don’t we deserve to be celebrated at any age? Of course, Grace WOULD have been 86, because she tragically died in 1982 at the very young age of 52. 😦 Well, we’ll celebrate her heavenly birthday!
Grace Kelly is almost my favourite actress. She’s the first classical actress I discover and I’ve seen all her films. I just LOVE her and I’m quite obsessed with her! I think many people know this. I wanted to honour her with a new blogathon (my second one!) and I hope many of you will participate. I know there are many blogathons coming up in November, but you CAN’T miss this one! It’ll be FUN, you’ll see! 😀
If you want to participate, first, take a look at these rules. If you don’t respect them, you go to jail (ok, no… but respect them).
1- Pick your subject. You can write about anything related to Grace Kelly: a film, her collaboration with a movie director (ok, right now I KNOW everybody is thinking about the same person), a personal tribute, etc. You can even write about her life after the movies (when she was a princess), no problem. For the films, as Grace Kelly starred in only 11 films, well, I will allow duplicates. Only, if I saw that already 3 persons picked the same film, I might ask you to choose another one.
2- You can submit your subject by commenting directly on this blog or you can send me an e-mail at virginie.pronovost@gmail.com. Tell me your subject, the name of your blog and the URL.
3- You have until November 10th at 11h59 pm to subscribe.
4- On the day of the blogathon, I will upload a new page for the blogathon where I will add the entries. Please submit your entry by commenting on this page or you can send it to me on my e-mail address. Try as much as possible to submit it before 11h59 pm on the 12th. If, for some reasons (that happen), you think your entry won’t be ready for the 12th, please just tell me!
5- Once you’ve subscribed and that your choice is approved, grab one of these beautiful banners, promote the event, invite your friend and get ready for the blogathon (because it’s already in less than 3 weeks my friends)!
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.
Here are the name of the blogs and their subjects:

I was wondering if I could share my post that I did a weeks ago on my blog. It’s just my thoughts on her, it’s not a review on any of her movies or anything like.

Hi Virginie. November is a really busy month for me. I’m absolutely stumped with articles, but I don’t want to say no. Could I do a Grace Kelly pictorial? With photos and writing underneath each photo? Let me know if that will work?

Hello Virginie, I was thinking that I already wrote a review about High Noon three years ago. I would like to change my pick to Dial M For Murder if that’s possible. Many thanks!

FYI, I won’t be able to post my contribution in time. I had a personal issue and didn’t had the time to decently write something. I’m very sad about it. Next time for sure!

Hi Virginie. I can participate with a better subject now. I’m backing out of the cartoon blogathon as I’ve never seen a cartoon and I’ve backed out of the Swashathon. So could I write about Grace Kelly and Alfred Hitchcock, their collaborations?

I want to do something about “The Swan” and how her character there is a sort of commentary on her persona in general. I would do it at my LiveJournal, http://litlover12.livejournal.com.

What a great idea! I just adore Grace Kelly. My sister may want to write about To Catch a Thief ( I’ll ask her when she gets home from work )….but for me, I would like to republish an abridged version of a 1967 Photoplay article on Kelly and her marriage into the Rainier family. Our blog is Silver Scenes ( silverscenesblog.blogspot.com )

Oh dear, I’m afraid I’ll have to back out on that Photoplay article. I searched and searched and could not find the magazine anywhere. I will happily tackle To Catch a Thief however, but it probably won’t be posted till late tomorrow or Thursday morning. Gosh, I wish I could have found the magazine – such a good article!
