I had so much fun last year when I hosted my very first blogathon: The Wonderful Ingrid Bergman Blogathon in honour of her centenary. As it was a success (and as I love Ingrid so much), I couldn’t resist hosting it again this year. After all, 101 is a beautiful number too! The celebrations were big around the world for Ingrid Bergman’s birthday during the whole 2015. But why shouldn’t we celebrate her in our own way (blogging) next August 29 (which also marks her death anniversary)?
Hosting the blogathon again will also be the occasion for those who missed it last year to participate.
***
Of course, if you wish to participate and honour the wonderful Ingrid Bergman with us, here are some rules to follow:
1- Choose a subject. You can write about anything related to Ingrid Bergman (her life, a film, a director she collaborated with, etc.). No duplicates (that mostly concerns the films). If you want to write more than on entry, don’t hesitate to do so, but I’d prefer to limit it to 2 by person.
2- Once you have your subject, submit it here in the comments section or via Twitter (Ginnie_SP) or by email (virginie.pronovost@gmail.com) or message me via the Wonderful World of Cinema Facebook Page. Provide your subject, your blog name, your blog URL and your Twitter handle (if you have a Twitter account).
3- Once you’re subject is approved, take one of these banners to promote the event on your blog. Even if you can’t participate, you can always help us promoting the event. We (I) want as much participants as possible!
4- The event will take place from August 27 to August 29, 2016 on Ingrid’s 101 birthday. On the bogathon days, I will publish a new post where you could submit your entry.
5- If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask. And have fun!
Here is the rooster with the blogs and their subjects:

Much appreciated.

Hum everything is much said in my post, but if this is your first blogathon, I can explain to you quickly how it works. The event celebrate Ingrid Bergman. So, you choose a subject to write on (related to Ingrid Bergman of course). It can be a movie review, a tribute, or any other subject. I don’t allow duplicates (that concerns mostly the film review. I don’t mind if two people want to write a tribute to Ingrid, since it’s something very personal). Anyway, when you have your choice you can submit it in the comments with your blog name and your blog URL. And then, you submit your entry/article on one of the blogathon days (August 27-28 or 29). I’ll create a new post for that when the time will come. But basically you have almost 4 monts to prepare yourself 😉

If it helps, Adryann, you just post your Bergman post during the blogathon and let Virginie know you’ve posted it so she can link to it. The. You read what everyone else has written 🙂

It is an anti Nazi noir with Bergman and Boyer (who did Gaslight together, you’ll no doubt remember), and the Nazi is played by Charles Laughton!

Yeah I read about it in an Ingrid Bergman’s bio

Not really. Except that it wasn’t her most successful film

Good golly, I just finished it and am sobbing. The horrors of imminent war in France, seen through the lives of two broken people. I loved it…and will probably never be able to watch it again.

Wow somehow you made me want to see it. (Even if you wouldn’t watch it again).

4/5 stars for odd pacing and a subplot that appears and disappears, but I think that may be because it’s following a bigger novel. I heartily recommend it sometime when you’re willing to be sad about how hard life and love can be.

Virginie. Melanie can have “Gaslight”. I’ve already done it, and it’s not fair that I take it away from somebody who probably wants to write about it for the first time. Besides, I’m not going to have to the time for two posts. So Melanie can do “Gaslight”
