The Golden Boy Blogathon is back!!

I was a bit hesitant to host the Golden Boy Blogathon: A William Holden Celebration again this year (lack of time) but, this really is an event I simply cannot skip! So, I’m back hosting it for the fourth consecutive year! My friends Michaela from Love Letters to Old Hollywood and Emily from The Flapper Dame have graciously accepted to host it again with me this year. I absolutely loved hosting it for his centenary last year with them so I’m looking forward to doing it again this year!

As you know, William Holden is one of these actors I simply worship. He was a brilliant figure of classic Hollywood and showed incredible versatility. From the late 30s until the early 80s, he played in around 70 films and won an Oscar for Stalag 17. He was nominated for two others. On April 17, 2019, we will celebrate what would have been his 101st birthday and that’s why we invite you to take part in the 4th Golden Boy Blogathon: A William Holden Celebration! The event will start on his birthday, April 17 and will take an end on April 19, 2019.

If you wish to participate, please carefully read these rules first:

1- Choose a subject. It can be anything related to William Holden.  But remember that the objective of this event is to honour him. So, you might like to avoid topics like his alcoholism…

  • Because we want as many participants as possible, we will allow duplicates but a maximum of two persons/subject.
  • We will also allow a limit of two entries each.
  • Once you have your subject in mind, please submit it in the comment section and tell us the name of your blog and the URL. You can comment here, on Emily’s blog or on Michaela’s blog.

2- Once your subject has been approved, choose one of these beautiful banners created by Emily to help us promote the event on your blog.

3- The blogathon will start on April 17 and will end on April 19, 2019. Please make sure to have your entries ready on time! We will each host a day and we will let you know as soon as possible who’s hosting which day so you can submit your entry on the right blog.

4- When the blogathon starts, we will publish a new post where you’ll be able to submit your entry.

5- Remember that this event was created to honour William Holden, so make sure that your articles are respectful. If you don’t like him, this may not be a blogathon made for you.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask! We’d love if you could help us promote the event via social media. The more the merrier! ❤

  1. Lovely!! I actually did a spotlight on him last year and watched 10 of his films. Would you mind me listing one or two of the articles or would you prefer new content? 🙂

  2. Can I join with my five favourite William Holden films? Just writing a little bit about each one and why I love it so. Happy you are hosting this to honour Bill again.
