Hello everybody! The last time I published something on this blog, it was in mid-April… So I think it’s time for me to be back. Now that I have completed my master degree and that I have more free time on my hands, I have no excuse not to write about the wonderful world of classic films.
And I chose to accompany this return with good news: After some reflection, I’ve decided to host the Ingrid Bergman Blogathon again this year! I skipped it last year precisely because I was in Stockholm (Ingrid’s hometown) and busy visiting the city and preparing myself for the school year that was about to start. By the way, if you still haven’t read my article on Ingrid Bergman’s corners in the Swedish capital, it’s just here. Anyway, this year’s edition will be extra special. It’s not only the 5th edition, but it’s also in concordance with what would have been Ingrid’s 105th birthday (and, sadly, her 38th death anniversary). I also hope this can contribute to making 2020 a bit less terrible than it has been so far.
The Wonderful Ingrid Bergman Blogathon is the very first blogathon I hosted on my blog, back in 2015. It has always been a pleasure for me to be back and read all the participants’ impassioned entries! Plus, after having lived 9 1/2 month in her hometown, I feel I see all that under a new and even more fascinated gaze. I’m hoping you will find some time towards the end of August to consecrated a day to this icon of the silver screen by participating in my event. This one will take place from August 27 to August 29, 2020.
If you are indeed a cool person willing to take part, make sure to familiarise yourself with these simple rules:
1- Choose a subject by commenting on this post or sending me an email at virginie.pronovost@gmail.com. Make sure to provide the name of your blog and the URL. You can choose any subject related to Ingrid Bergman that speaks to you.
- I will allow duplicates but a maximum of two persons/subject unless it’s something very general like a tribute (we don’t necessarily like Ingrid for all the same reasons).
- I will also permit a maximum of two entries/persons.
- All entries must be new material.
2- You can participate even if you don’t have a blog, as a guest. Just make sure to tell me well in advance so we can organize ourselves!
3- Once I have approved your subject, help me spread the word by including one of my banners on your blog. I also invite you to share the event on social media, invite friends to participate, etc.
** Don’t hesitate you use the banner that I put at the top of this post if you want to! **
4- Remember, the event will start on August 27, 2020, and will take an end on August 29, 2020, to concord with Ingrid’s 105th birthday. I will accept late entries, because I’m late myself sometimes, but not too late, please!
- When the blogathon begins, I will create a new post for you to submit your entries. Make sure to link that new post to your blog (not the one that you are reading now).
5- A few more request:
- If you don’t like Ingrid Bergman, skip your turn. Any post that seems disrespectful towards her might not be included.
- If you want to participate, SUBSCRIBE FIRST. I don’t mind if you do that at the last minute but subscribe.
- Don’t forget to mention my blog and the event in your post. Some people forget.
- Of course, you can post your article in advance if it’s ready when it’s ready. Still, I would prefer if you submitted it on the blogathon dates on the new post because otherwise it will just get lost on the blog and I might forget it. I won’t read it before the blogathon starts anyway. But if you have it ready in advance, you can always schedule it for being posted when the blogathon starts (in Post Settings)! 😉
6- That’s it! If you have any questions, it will be my pleasure to answer them!
